No one has probably embodied the belief in the universal, unifying force of music as Leonard Bernstein. And his full-fledged artist life long, this musical all-round genius cast a spell on generations not only of classical music fans. Whether as a conductor, composer, pianist, pedagogue or media star – nobody could elude the charm and aura of this charismatic philanthropist.
On August 25, 2018, Bernstein, who died in 1990 in New York, would have been 100 years old. To commemorate this wonderful musician, the great piano duo Dennis Russell Davies and Maki Namekawa are hosting this evening as a tribute to Leonard Bernstein with some of his most famous and beloved works.
Look forward to rousing pieces from the great stage hits of Leonard Bernstein such as “West Side Story”, “On the Town” or “Candide”.
